Venezuela's opposition movement has announced a 2-day general strike for this week. It is just the latest move to pressure the government of president Nicolas Maduro. As the political and economic crisis continues, some families are choosing to flee and seek better conditions in other parts of South America.
No fewer than 11,000 Venezuelans emigrated to Argentina last year.
Most of them settle in the capital Buenos Aires where they try to recreate the life they left behind in Venezuela.
RFI's correspondent Aude Villiers-Moriamé, went to talk to some of them last week as they voted -- from abroad -- in a recent anti-government referendum.
