Legislative and municipal elections were held in Cameroon on Sunday 9 February. In some English-speaking communities, the elections were marked by a low turnout and sporadic gunshots.
Prior to the polls, separatists had called on locals to boycott the elections and also imposed a one week lockdown in their attempt to disrupt the exercise.
