As more and more global media companies like Netflix, CNN, Bloomberg or You Tube, look to tap into the African market, some media interests on the continent are increasingly worried about unfair competition, cultural appropriation and essentially, domination from foreign media.
Others believe nothing beats a local language, proximity, and the capacity to speak to pockets of community.
