The U.S has long been the world’s number one exporter of arms. The past few years has seen weapons from Eastern Europe flood the Syrian conflict. Through Eastern-European contractors and subcontractors, the Pentagon has supplied up to 1.9 billion euros worth of Soviet-style arms and ammunition to Syrian groups and factions fighting against the Islamic State armed group.
