Today is International Day against Child Labour. Over in the Kenyan coastal city of Mombasa, there are a growing number of students dropping out of school who end up working in the largest market in east Africa: the Kongowea Market.
Market officials believe about 30 percent of those working there are under-aged children.
According to the Kenyan constitution, the legal working age is 18. Local authorities are increasingly urging that action be taken to rescue these children.
From Mombasa our correspondent Joseph Jira files this report.
