In some rural communities in Cameroon, poverty and cultural beliefs can make it difficult for women and girls to access sanitary pads. As part of a sustainable response to the challenge, a project for the production of biodegradable sanitary pads from agricultural waste has kicked off in Bamenda. The pads are destined to serve those in the countryside and suburban areas. Correspondent Tebeck Alphonse observed the production of Kuja Eco-Pads in the rural community of Mendakwe, about a 15-minute drive from Bamenda. He has this report.
