The World Health Organisation has been warning for some time of an increased risk of what are called ‘non-communicable diseases’ in many parts of Africa.
These aren’t diseases that you catch -- they come from how people live: things like smoking, alcohol, high-blood pressure, not-exercising are increasingly harming people’s health in some parts of Africa.
In Zambia, health authorities have found that increased obesity in parts of the country is contributing to these health problems.
