A major new link road is planned for the Kenyan capital Nairobi. The five-kilometer route will cut across the city’s biggest slum, Kibera, and is supposed to ease traffic congestion.
Construction began a year ago, but it is now blocked. A legal case has been brought against the project, because people in Kibera are worried about being evicted.
In the first of two reports, Laure Broulard goes to visit the people who oppose the road.
