The city hall of Buenos Aires recently passed a law to allow police to issue fines to anyone they consider guilty of ‘street harrassment’. This usually means men commenting on the appearance of women that pass in the street.
For a long time this has been considered normal behavior on the streets of Argentina. But many women are now saying it has to stop – that this is part of a wider fight for equality.
